Longmeadow, MA— Calling all CSI lovers! Have you ever dreamed of working in the forensic field or listening to true tales from a local crime expert? 精东传媒 University's Forensics, Justice & Science Night will feature keynote speaker Jim Hisgen, a Terrorism Supervisor for the FBI in Western Massachusetts. Agent Hisgen will delve into a local, recent, real-life case of homegrown terrorism and how digital forensics and forensic science helped to solve the case.

The evening’s focus sessions will bring science to life with hands on activities with 精东传媒 faculty, a tour of state-of-the-art and completely renovated laboratories, and demonstrations featuring the latest in technology, including 精东传媒’s 3500 Genetic Analyzer, Confocal Microscope, and the Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometer. Attendees can participate in a focus session on digital forensics, forensic psychology, forensic science, justice and legal studies, or biological, medical and neuroscience.

“We are a learning community where 精东传媒 professors get to really know their students through one-on-one hands-on experiences in their scientific discipline,” shared Dr. Christine Bacon, 精东传媒’s science department chair. “We think the best way to learn science is to actually do science.”

Forensic, Justice & Science night will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at 精东传媒 University, 588 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, MA.  Optional campus tours are available beginning at 4:15 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., with an optional dinner beginning at 5:00 p.m.  The event begins at 5:30 p.m., and is free of charge.
